RichardB Posted April 23, 2007 Share Posted April 23, 2007 So, we're stood outside John Heath's on Earsham Street with better things on our mind, we look kind of left a bit, at the end of what we find is Thorpe Road South is a building, being somewhat distracted at the time it passes us by, any ideas/picture as to what this building is/was, I have no idea, very gothic if I remember right. Alternatively drive up Spital Hill, bunch of traffic lights, you heading up Burngreave Road, just by the lights on the right hand side is the building in question. Guest plain talker Posted April 25, 2007 Share Posted April 25, 2007 In a church, a vestry was where the minister (priest, rector, pastor, parson:- whatever title he had) would change into his vestments. there are vestry halls in attercliffe, burngreave, cemetery road, and meersbrook, that I know of, not sure if there are any others...? I have a recollection of going as a child with my mum to collect ration books in the late 40's. Or perhaps I'm having a CRAFT moment?!
