This could have gone in many other places, but, its related to the Canal, so here it is.

Accident at Attercliffe

Aug 1, 1817

As Daniel Bradbury was working on the new canal between Sheffield and Tinsley, a large stone, of about three tons weight, fell upon him, and crushed him in so dreadful a manner, that he died in a few hours after. He has left a wife and five children.
