Bole Hill School Norton

I've read that Lydia Shore built a school at Bole hill in Norton. Can't think where, unless its where that ugly square building is now, sheffield countryside or something. Anyone know about this. Can't find any photos of this. Also where would you place Cow Mouth farm? Is it Hemsworth or Bole Hill or what?

If you look on Google earth, the area around Crookes, Walkley and Hillsborough is classed as Norton, it also appears as Norton on some old maps, so it could refer to Bole Hill in Crookes.

It is confusing isn't it

There was a Bole Hill off Derbyshire Lane I think. There was a farm there called Bole Hill Farm.

(Can't remember where I found that out.)

But there is a Pole Hill off Cobnar Road which only had me more confused.

I looked into this ages ago when I first noticed that google maps names whole swathes of Sheffield as Norton.

Only thing I'm sure about is that Bole Hill/s crops up all over the place as quite a common place name.

Still don't quite get it.

Help - I'm digging myself in deeper.

Despite google putting half of Sheffield in Norton, this Bole Hill is definitely in Norton. There is a Bole Hill Farm or at least farmhouse and buildings there now. down the road from there is Cow Mouth Farm, recently was united dairy. What I haven't found round there is any Victorian school. Bole Hill itself is a small hamlet of very old cottages.
