Vintage Izal Medicated Toilet Roll Sheffield c 1970s.

Condition: Used: An item that has been previously used. See the seller’s listing for full details and description.

A vintage toilet roll from Izal Ltd, Thorncliffe, Chapeltown, Sheffield S30 4YP England.

The reverse side is the same as the front.

In good condition with only slight wear (see photo), it measures - 5" x 3".

A roll of World War 2 vintage includes a full length portrait of Hitler with the caption "Now I'm brownshirt all over".

Izal employed its poet to pen patriotic verses such as:

Hitler now screams with impatience

Our good health is proving a strain

May he and his Axis relations

Soon find themselves right down the drain

Like that one Richard,

Shows that even in wartime facing defeat in the dark days of the blitz in 1940 the British still have that crucial sense of defiant humour.
