From Canon Odom's Memorials of Sheffield ‘In the Churchyard is a cross inscribed : ‘To the memory of Walkley heroes 1914-1918. Their name liveth for evermore.’ The total cost was £ 220. St Marys Roll of Honour, Walkley. From Canon Odoms Memorials of Sheffield ‘WAR MEMORIAL – At the west end of the Church is a large oak frame with five panels containing the names of 251 Walkley men who fell in the Great War, with the simple inscription : ‘1914-1918, ‘Our life for yours.’ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

From Canon Odoms Memorials of Sheffield ‘The War Memorial includes a stone arch over the porch fronting Carver street, surmounted by a bronze figure of Christ on an oak cross, carried out at a cost of £380. On the arch is a metal plate inscribed : ‘The Calvery above was erected in memory of the men from this Church and parish who gave their lived in the War 1914-1918.’ Memorial tablets for the interior to eighty-four parishioners and members of the Church who fell in the war remain to be completed.’ (were these completed? ) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

From Canon Odoms Memorials of Sheffield ‘The cross above the communion table was presented by the Hon. Mrs. Douglas Vickers, in memory of Captain Francis George Godfrey Willoughby, who fell in action in Flanders in 1915. (no image as yet) The War Memorial consists of a mural tablet in mosar-tile, in a carved oak frame, with the names of 150 parishioners who fell in the Great War. From Canon Odom's Memorials of Sheffield - 'The War Memorial at the west end consists of a handsome brass plate, mounted on grey marble and surrounded by the Lion of S. Mark, 'in honoured memory of 43 men of the parish and congregation who gave their lives in the Great War 1914-1919.' From Canon Odoms Memorials of Sheffield (no image as yet) 'In memory of Henry Evelyn Marsh, who died January 10, 1914, and of John Lockwood Marsh, Captain York and Lancaster Regiment, killed October 16, 1915.'
