  10. as a 70s/80s soul boy I went to Issabellas regularly, great place, great music, great people, non of the truoble you had a Cairos or the Top Rank. I also saw ABC play one of their very first gigs there, a short gig of around 5 songs including Alphabet Soup, Poison Arrow, they were much more funky at this time, prior to getting the Trevor Horn treatment.
  11. Does anyone remember the Sunny Smiles books, these were pictures of childrens faces (usually smilling) that were sold for charity, there was a book of around 10 faces and you chose the picture you wanted. This could have been a sunday School/ Church fundraising activity. Imagine going door to door selling pictures of children these days
  12. Out of interest, does water still run through the tunnel, if so is the flow constant or interupted. The reason I ask is that I am looking into alternate energy production, and have been looking at the possibility and practicality of inserting turbines into sewers, storm drains ect.
  13. Roses the bakers sell Brandy Snaps filled with fresh cream, yummy.
  14. Is it parked outside the shops / bus terminus at Low Edges? Sorry, just seen the answer
  15. Hi As a group of youths we spent many happy hours in the 70s on the rowing boats at forge dam, the bloke that ran them was called George, we often spent the morning fishing, lunch in the cafe and the afternoon causing havoc on the boats, ending up capsized more often than not, then a long wet walk home. Eee we were bad lads.
  16. A guess at the initials = Sheffield & Hallam (shire) B!!!!!!!!. Boundry, I have seen this somewhere, but at present, the memory fails me.
  17. At a guess it could be somewhere near Olivers Mount at Handsworth, the site of Handsworth Sporting Club, next to High Hazels park.
  18. One of the major changes is the sign on the Hendo's factory.
  19. Very close Vox, there is a balcony that runs around the building, the picture was taken from there.
