  2. Thanks for the info and links. I'm sure that must be the school. I wonder if anyone has any recollections of the building on Devon Road being used as part of the school. Lizzie
  3. Apparently there was a school in Pitsmoor called Oakwood School. One of the buildings it used was on Devon Road (which is now used as a private dwelling). Does anyone know anything about this school?. Any information would be very much appreciated. Lizzie

  5. Yes thanks, the brochure is interesting, in fact the whole site is. It's full of fascinating snippets Liz
  6. Hi Richard B, My earliest Brunt is William Inmam Brunt who was baptised in Rawmarsh in 1799. He married Sarah Broughton and they had at least 6 children including my great great grandfather Walter. I've no record of a George Arthur and as far as I'm aware I have no fusty old men in my cupboards!!! Liz
  7. My ancestors worked at Joseph Rodgers. Starting with my GGG grandfather Joseph Brammer, then his son also Joseph then his grandson another Joseph. Joseph Brammer (born 1875) was awarded the British Empire Medal in 1946 for developing service knives for the Government Research Department. Liz
  8. Hi All, these are the names I am researching in the Sheffield area and would love to hear from anyone who is interested in the same families so maybe we could swap notes. Liz
