  1. ...this years SYTT Open Day will be... SUNDAY 21 JULY 2019 !!!
  2. ...so good to hear as my wifes Grandad was the original painter of both 510 and 513 to Last Tram guise at Central Works.! - Mr Ron Hughes , alas no longer with us, he died in '93.
  3. ...also i take it the red border line is also more recent as a warning of the "fragile" area ? - think the original roofs were just straight grey rectangle as standard like the buses ?
  4. ....another Open Day will be arranged around June/July next year Peter - i will update when the date is confirmed !
  5. ...just an update on 287 - SWB 287L - formally converted to open-top during its SYT/ Mainline days - now superbly restored and with its roof back on , and finished in Sheffield Transport livery as it was when new !
  6. The Model Bus Federation (MBF) will be on the road locally again on Sunday, June 9th 2019 , at the South Yorkshire Transport Museum, Aldwarke, Rotherham, for its fourth Model Exhibition / Open Day . There will be two of our best-known resin kit manufacturers in attendance along with many exhibitors and plenty of good value diecasts on sale. In addition there will be several model railway layouts plus the MBF Yorkshire Area's own tram and bus layout having its first public outing, and many local models to stir the memories ! Refreshments available all day, and a plentiful supply of full-size buses and other road transport for wider interest. There is a free courtesy bus service from the centre of Rotherham with full details of this on the SYTM website.Usual museum prices apply .Open from 10.30am until 4pm.
  7. ...the original colours which were on the trams are still used on all the tram posts, railings ect - even the Supertram Bridge in town !
