  1. This was a sad story... The owner of the headstone was came form my hometown: Xinhui. The headtone shows owner's information, including where he came from, when he born and dead. The limitied information shown that he only live 33 years old, form 1956-1989, and he have became a father before he dead. I can image that he came here and try to living for a good time, however, he never enjoy The Bliss of Family, which makes me sad.

  2. Thank you. I had found the marriage, and along with the timing of the photographer, is what led me to think that this was the wedding in the picture. It was the only one I found that possibly matched. The Kays would have been fairly well off and this does look like a "well dressed" wedding. I just haven't been able to confirm that this is in fact Douglas and Clara.

  3. The newspaper report didn't state the name of the beerhouse, but below are extracts from the 1822 Baines Directory and 1837 Whites Directory which show the Tynes running the Britannia. Many directories are available free from Leicester university here: Historical Directories
