The trade mark of the kettle can be seen on the outer wall of the letters and parcels collection point in Pond Street. That’s where the works stood.

The "kettle" brand, granted to Haywood in 1860 and in 1902 owned by William Bush and Sons, was split between two firms at auction in 1902. Thomas Turner and Company bought the right to put the "kettle" on pen and pocket knives.  Needham, Veall and Tyzack bought the right to use the "kettle" on table knives, razors, scissors, electro plate etc.
