hello

would love to know when this house/pub was built.

done quite a bit of research on it in early nineties but couldn't find a build date.

only found one old picture from the sixties also.

also love to know why it was called the cannon hall

thanks in advance

Christ, I used to drink in there in the 80's and early 90's. It became a bit of a hole and there were a few muppets that used to frequent it, although I'm sure thats what everyone would have said about us!

Thought I would revive this topic since the OP never got an answer to his question. The Cannon Hall was my local watering hole from '68 to '70 when it really used to buzz. Live bands in the disco, Frank White a regular, Whitbread Tankard, great memories. Never saw any serious altercations in those 2 years. I've seen a few pictures of it's demise, maybe on SH somewhere?

My ancestor lived in this house around 1825-1838, long before it was a pub. I  would love to know more about its history

and why it is called Cannon Hall. Was there a connection to the the one near Barnsley?
