Many Thanks to those providing updates to the main list.

Updates (with provenance if possible) gratefully received from anyone.

If possible we would like a Pub name, an address (however vague), a persons name and a date. If there is some information missing, let us know anyway - we'll try to fill in the gaps.

Photographs and documents of any type relating to old Pubs/Publicans sought. Weddings/Birthdays etc etc, interior shots of premises most welcome.

Not sure how to send stuff ? Ask any administrator, post a reply here or email SheffieldHistory@Gmail.com and we will do our best to assist.

Hello

Does anyone agree with me in suggesting these two are the same pub?

The Old White Hart , address in 1881 as 7 Waingate & 14 Castle Green

The Old White Hart, address 14 Castle Green

They have the same keeper from 1845 to 1854 a Mr William Dove.

I remember William Dove.

He used to do half an hour at Waingate then dash up to his other pub at Castle Green for half an hour.

Backwards and forwards all day. It was a nightmare getting served. he he
