Fascinating to think that a barn could survive 500 years. I wonder if it was part of Heeley Hall at some stage? Heeley Hall is said to have been situated behind the current Shakespeare Inn (Ye Olde) aka Brothers Arms - only two drawings of this hall exist and I can't see it on any map. Did it exist at all? Can't find any information on it apart from the two drawings shown below.

Church Of The Nazarene built 1897, formally called "St. Peters Mission Church"

Thanks for the link to oldheeley.org , POPPYCHRISTINA.

Steve.

St Peter's was built to replace the former Iron Church or Tin Church (both names were used) which occupied the land at the back (near Richards Rd) which  Heeley Green cinema was later built upon.

I keep getting a "server not found" message for oldheeley.org.  does it still exist?

I get a personal health page when I click on it so the site must have closed down.

Hi has part of Myrtle Road gone?

My Great Grandma lived at number 42 in 1906. I can’t find any photos.

Thank you.

Yes, some houses on parts of Myrtle Road were demolished in the 1970's.

Number 42 Myrtle Road is in the area of the second vehicle that is parked on the right hand side of the road, seen in this 1966 photograph.
