Genevieve Night Club

It was thanks to the generosity of Genevieve's doormen in 1974 that I started a romance with the lady who was to become my wife.

After an initial visit on a student night special, we were given concessionary tickets on leaving five times in a row. The DJs also helped by playing The Hollies hit "The Air That I Breathe" every night we went which I used to whisper in her ear as we smooched around the dance floor.

Glory days

Discount flyer for Genevieve nightclub from the 1970's.

Admission was 12p!

Wow 12p! I remember going there once around 1973 and seeing all the girls dancing round their handbags (not my scene as I wasn't into disco or chart music; more a Wapentake/Nelson heavy rocker).
