What do we know about Simpkins Sweet Factory in Hillsborough?

Says Eat 1921 on the sign

Never see anyone going in

Never see anyone coming out

It's the Willy Wonka of Sheffield!

Once worked for a couple of years with a young man who was destined to inherit the company on his fathers retirement...or death.

Worked there for 3 and a half years from school June 92 to December 95, glad it's still going, some great memories from those days .

Was it Adrian or Ian you worked with John Simpkin's sons ?

Atha....it was way back in the 1960's when the young man came into our office and, frankly, I have quite forgotten his name...but I do recall that his future was mapped out. Sorry, I can't be more helpful.

It's still going strong  well the smell is. I drive past here most mornings and you can smell

the peppermint  and aniseed  and other yummy smells although I can't ever recall buying

any of their sweets. I'm told most are packed into small handy pack tins.
