An alphabetical list of all persons owning moveable goods and personal property in Sheffield and Handsworth , when a tax of one ninth of their value was granted to Edward I, in the 35th year of his reign, to enable him to continue wars with France and Scotland.
This is not an exhaustive list of the inhabitants in Sheffield and Handsworth in 1297; but it would include all householders, farmers and tradesmen.
