Sheffield History
Hi General, Do you have any more info on them ?
Guest The General
A bit, I can remember them being around circa 1990, We actually went down to see them do a gig at Camden with them in the "Tour Bus", They played all the local venues in Sheffield, The Leadmill, Upstairs at The Hallamshire etc. They were really friendly with their fans and would often drink before and after the gigs with us. Their highlight was possibly supporting Beautiful South at the arena in 1992. They had a top 40 hit later as "Speedy" with BOY WONDER used ubiquitously as background music whenever Wayne Rooney is shown on MOTD There is some more info here Blammo They all still live in Sheffield, so I believe and may come across the web-site... Sheffield History
That's a fantastic and original promotional photograph ! Love it - and thanks for the post General as it's a band I'd not come across before..
Guest Bebby
Phil is an architect who is/has been designing new schools. Paul? Sutty (Speedy) lives in London and does internet/promoting stuff. Bron runs a museum somewhere near Matlock. Moony is a father of two. Tracey joined the Bendy Monsters and played in their last gig at the National Centre for Popular Music. Speedy had a deal with Boilerhouse, their 1st single, Boy Wonder, just failed to hit the top 40 back in 1996 (ish). Went on the road with them countless times. They allowed me to experience some very rude ladies, many thanks to the Columbia hotel.
muddycoffee
They were a great band. I remember there was a dancer like the happy mondays "bez" who used to go on stage and dance but he was awkward skinny and geeky. He was called "ken" and kind of more like an embarrasing uncle, than a cool guy. It was so funny..
