Clear Line have not got planning permission  The latest planning application is live and the official deadline is February 2nd (although in reality you'll probably be ok for few days yet).  They have put the fencing up to intimidate and deter people from objecting.  Please object to this latest threat to the Creevela works.  Details are here:  http://tinyurl.com/plbylly

From document:  WRITTEN SCHEME OF INVESTIGATION FOR ARCHAEOLOGICAL BUILDING RECORDING AND WATCHING BRIEF

at: https://planningapps.sheffield.gov.uk/online-applications/files/63ABBA9A1D2F4213F7B79BD503B2DCF5/pdf/15_04196_COND1-WSI_CREEVELA_WORKS-1018225.pdf

5. ARCHAEOLOGICAL BUILDING RECORDING

5.1 A basic description of the building has been made as part of the desk-based assessment (ArcHertiage 2014), which may be used as a reference during the building recording. The recording will take place during three phases:

 prior to any development works taking place

 following 'soft strip'

 during demolition

The purpose of the recording is to determine and identify the multiphase nature and context of the buildings. A further objective of this work is to provide a thorough record of the fabric and features of the buildings in advance of their conversion or demolition.

5.3 This survey will enable an enhanced understanding of the development of the buildings. Generally this survey will be guided by a model brief supplied by SYAS and Historic England's “Understanding Historic Buildings” publication (2016), for a Level 2 record.

5.4 Buildings will be surveyed using a hand-held laser device and hand-tape measurements. Where available existing plans/drawings may be used as a base, and will be checked for dimensional accuracy.

5.5 Floor plans will be produced at 1:100 or suitable scale sufficient to illustrate all recorded features. Long and short sections through each building or range will be produced if this enhances interpretation. In addition, measured drawings will be produced to show the form of any architectural decoration, if identified.

5.6 A photographic record of the buildings will be made. The primary archive will comprise 35mm and medium format black and white film. Colour slide and/or digital photographs will be taken to supplement the primary archive, particularly where decorative details or colour are important. Plans showing the location and direction of each photograph will be compiled.

5.7 Photographic montage images (or orthorectified images if possible) will be made of the elevations. The purpose is to record areas of different build, or phasing. Interpretative drawings of the different build/phasing elements will be produced from the photographic montages/orthorectified images. Detailed elevation drawings will not be made.

5.8 A detailed written description of the buildings will be produced. This will include a summary description of the development of the site as a whole, plus detailed descriptions of each building surveyed. Attention will also be given to any other features such as: fixtures, fittings, decorative elements, evidence for power generation/transmission, other processes. A brief record will also be made of any more recent use of the buildings, as evidenced through graffiti or any other modifications.
