RichardB
Well, that's my chances of getting any work done this afternoon well and truly blown away. Just wandering around in 1855. Excellent. Thank you.

RichardB
There are three of us in the room at work, not a jot of work getting done. The other two guys are chasing railway lines in Newcastle and Northumberland respectively, I'm still in 1855 Sheffield.

boginspro
It's not very easy to use is it! One touch of a button and you have lost the map and often back in Scotland That link starts with Scotland in the categories box on the left History dude you need to change that to Great Britain before dragging or zooming in. I live in Scotland and have used this site for a long time, there are many options from the home page such as the one on the link below which has a slider bottom left for a modern overlay. http://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=16&lat=53.3357&lon=-1.3968&layers=
boginspro
The link above may not take you straight to Sheffield but I find that I can change to a more detailed map on the left, drag and zoom to an area of Sheffield, bookmark it and the bookmark takes me to where I left it, so that I can have several bookmarks of different areas from the same map.
