Searching for William (Billy) Furniss

Hello everyone,

I wonder if anyone can help me in tracing a distant relative of mine. I am looking for information relating to William Douglas Furniss (born 1909) who lived in the Norwood Drive area of Sheffield in the early 1970's. He worked in the town hall, but I believe that his wife Frances had a shop selling groceries/green grocery which someone might remember. He had a son in around 1940/1, but I do not know his name and this is the person I most anxious to trace, but without a first name it is difficult! William was adopted by his stepfather so it might be that he went under his birth name of Binch, but I think this unlikely. If anyone out there can tell me anything at all i would be very grateful.

I look forward to your responses

Best wishes

Kim

I have some Furniss' on a distant side of my family tree a Frederick c.1885 and his father Samuel c.1867

Try typing Furniss in on the search on here http://www.sheffieldrecordsonline.org.uk/ as i know there is a topic on them there.

Hope this helps.

Baldy.
