Hi,

I've dropped posts here a couple of times, but not in a while and there are always new members joining who may know something new.

Fred Spiksley's biography is currently being written by my father and myself. So far it's 15 years of research in the making. You can find out more about him on the wikipedia page I've been editing and also watch a video of him as a football coach in 1931.

Obviously Fred is one of Sheffield Wednesday's greatest players, and some would consider him to be the greatest. There are many stories available about Fred in books and I have all of these. I am the only person who actually owns a copy of his autobiography (it took some finding!). But I am always on the look out for new stories, the ones that people tell but don't record.

So if you have heard of anything connected to Ferd than please drop me a message on here. I hope too, that some of you will be interested in purchasing a copy of the book, when it is finally published.

Thankyou

Oh, and for anyone interested, please read Fred's Wikipedia page and also watch a video of him with sound in 1931.

Just thought Clive would like to see this caricature of Fred by none other than Jimmy Seed, the old Wedy captain.

Cheers for the Jimmy Seen cartoon. I've only ever seen it as a black line drawing before.

I have to confess that I did the colouring myself --hope to hear more of your progress on the book. From what I remember (you once wrote to me about it), you seem to have been working on it a long time!

I've dropped you a private message. I must say that I am pleased to have heard from you again.
