HughW
Edward HUFTON 119 Bramber Street Kelly's 1925 SUFC West Ham Cigarette Cards Played for SUFC before the war. Possibly retained his base in Sheffield though he was playing for West Ham in 1925. 'Atlas and Norfolk' on that page is actually Atlas and Norfolk Works, Sheffield (2 different works teams?). Full name Arthur Edward Hufton. Hugh
HughW
Leonard BIRKS 282 Derbyshire Lane, Norton Woodseats Kelly's 1925 SUFC(?) When my son was younger I asked Arsenal for any information on Archie but I seem to have mislaid it in house moves. There is a good picture of him on the Lincoln City website with his playing record while there. I will show this to my mother at the weekend and see if she has any more information. RichardB
Roe No mention of either Club here ...got a picture though Looks like he was unfortunate with the timing of a "certain event" Roe was born in Hull, in the East Riding of Yorkshire. He began his football career with Sheffield Wednesday. before the First World War, but never appeared for the first team. When competitive football resumed after the war, Roe joined South Shields., newly elected to the Second Division. [2] He scored their first goal in the Football League, the only goal of the home game against Birmingham. on 1 September 1919. Roe - Wednesday Both references seem to confirm he was a publican in Sheffield. Time for some more hunting then ...
Guest SonofSharrow
Milton, Tummon, Birks, Brelsford, Hufton and Hoyland were all Blades. Brelsford played 417 times for United. I believe Trotter was an Owl as I have a couple of reserve programmes with a centre forward named trotter around 1928-
