duckweed
Has anyone worked in the old Law courts? We are looking for stories of the people who worked there. Magistrates, Clerks, Journalists, Officers of the Court, Lawyers. Anyone who has memories of the Courts. Also any interesting cases in the Court besides Charles Peace. We have description of it being a refuge for Sheffield Flood Survivors and the testimony in the Chartist trial as to how they planned to take it over. Also the Royal Commission enquiring into the Outrages. Any other historical tales. The Gangs of 1920s perhaps? Suffragettes? We would be very grateful for your help. After all its not just about a building its about Sheffield's story. Friends of Old Town Hall
