1867-83 £5 orange SG137 Superb Sheffield CDS.

Rare indeed. Not many of these known used outside the Channel Islands. Equivalent to approximately a £1,000 postage stamp these days.

Last time I looked this was about £550, now flying away - currently £1,290; stunning. 'ave a whipround and buy it for me please.

Good question. I can answer for 99% of known occurences of this stamp. They were used to post bales of tobacco from the Channel Islands to mainland England thus avoiding paying tax.

Lord only knows what someone was sending outbound from Sheffield, that's what caught my eye.

What was delivered for a current cost of 1,000 pounds?
