lysander
The first recorded cases of cholera in the UK were reported in Sunderland in 1831. After Sheffield's 1832 outbreak we started to spend money on public health...hence the reduction in numbers... but a few years later when, as often happens, spending was reduced up went the numbers... as in the 1854 outbreak.
