RichardB
I do seem to have a William Guion at 58 Charles Street in 1845 and a John Roberts at the same place in 1849 - best let UKL have a say on those.

HughW
In 1871 Sarah DIXON is 58, a widow and a beerhouse keeper at 58 Charles St (piece 4684 folio 64 page 30) In 1891 Sarah COOK is 55, Married [husband not at home] a licensed victualler at "4&2 Charles St & 1-3 Union St" (piece 3822 folio 27 page 8) I don't understand the '4&2 Charles St'. In 1901 The Phoenix is listed as 1 Union St, between 72 Charles St (counting down) and 9 Union St. I believe the re-numbering was in 1871.
