Long and short of it is; land owned by Church Burgesses, they might sell but who could possibly be interested in that piece of land? Bayleaf Posted May 23, 2014 Share Posted May 23, 2014 If I remember right the report in the paper said not even the Victorian Society could find any architectural reason to try and get it listed! Any call for preservation would be on social history or emotional grounds, neither of which English Heritage would accept. The only option would be to set up a "Hendos Historical Preservation Society" and raise funds to buy it. (It would be worth it if only to see the faces on the Uni 'development' people!) I do agree with you, I was just pointing out it was an ordinary building so the University will have no qualms about demolishing it. Culture and memory do not exist in the University. tozzin Posted November 15, 2014 Share Posted November 15, 2014 A young woman I know was given this old Henderson's Relish bottle by a chap she knows, he found it in a Car Boot sale, its around 4" high, I don't know how old it is or why its such a small bottle could be that this was the original size bottle, I just don't know.
