JohnEBoy
In the early 1970's there used to be a water fountain (Peter Pan?) feature in Graves Park, which stood in the rectangle (filled with water) right in front of the mock-tudor Pavillion, where the wooden seats are situated around the hedged-off paved path and garden area now. One day when we went in, the fountain had gone, about 1971(?), and my grandma- who used to walk me through the park often- said that some ''naughty boys'' had vandalised it. Does anyone have any information or photo's of the lovely but doomed fountain? There's apparently nothing on Google?

JohnEBoy
Thanks, Steve, that's the one! But when was it destroyed, and were the little barstewads caught and punished?
duckweed
It was in the Rose gardens but not as a water feature and was never Peter Pan. It is Mercury Is it gone? Haven't been recently there.
JohnEBoy
My memory is over four decades old! But i thought it was Peter Pan or something, I didn't closely inspect that beautiful picture above though. In my fading memory, there was definitely a water fountain, and pool of water around it?
