John Biggins & Biggin Brothers were not related, John Biggins made Spoon & Fork Blanks and were eventually bought out by Nickel Blanks which in turn was bought. Biggin Brothers dealt in Electro Plating, they did excellent work but in the 1990s their work did deteriate, they increased the flow of electricity through the silver vats which made the plated objects come out like a crazy paving effect and by the time you had tried to make it look decent you had polished throught the silver to the nickel underneath and then it needed replating.

I used to do out work for John Biggin. Remember Mr Douglas who used to run the company for years. It was all moved to Roberts and Belks in the 1990s not nickel blanks as they were under the same ownership. The building is still there. They used to do some very high quality hotel cutlery for top hotels in London, Hilton, Grosvenor ect
