THYLACINE
I think this is a fabulous topic and so romantic, with its connections to socialism, suffragettes, cycling, rambling and a clubhouse out on the moors. I was fortunate enough to visit the clubhouse when I was very young and later, in my teens I camped with 2 friends in an adjacent field, by that time the clubhouse was disused and all shut up. How sad to see a photo on Picture Sheffield, in the early '70's of the clubhouse almost totally destroyed. The club was wound up in 1975 and all it's property sold. This is the official website of the Sheffield Clarion Movement but there are reams of information for anyone who wants to dig deeper. http://www.dawnlittlehales.com/clarionsheffield.co.uk/index.html
madannie77
Does anyone fancy a brisk New Year's Day walk from Fulwood to Castleton before dinner?
