Any/all further information gratefully received - Census data, PictureSheffield links (2, I think), relations etc etc

Bound to have been posted before but from Leaders " Rem of Old Sheffield" WRAGG: On the site of the Exchange Drapery establishment-built as

somewhat ambitious "commercial buildings"were some very old brick shops,

almost as old, I should think, as the " first brick house in Sheffield,"

built at the end of Pepper alley, according to the Rev. Edwin Goodwin,

about the year 1696.

I had a look at this and it gets complicated.

Basically I just think the bloke patented a method of making porcelain lettering which stands out in relief from the body object.

Tea Shop 1870 Sheffield Independent

Excellent find - the other side of Pepper Alley from the China dealer.

Can't find any mention of Edey in the usual places - a Mystery Tea-Vendor ... excellent and Thank you.
